Main doors should never open inside onto a toilet, a staircase, a solid wall or a cramped space. 24. How To Select A Good Feng Shui House

Look for a house that is protected at the back by slightly elevated land, or by a clump of trees, or by a higher building.

Look for a house which has a bright hall i.e. an empty vacant land in front. This can be a playing field or a padang or a wide open area. Such houses enjoy extreme good fortune.

Look for a house, which has a number that corresponds to your KUA number or to your day of birth. So if you are born on the 18th June, look for a house with the number 18. If you are born on the 14th September, then choose a house with the number 14. Match it with the day of birth (not the month or year).

23. Beware Of Pointed Roof Lines

These are deemed to be poison arrows aimed directly at your front door, and at your house. Such physical manisfestations of afflictions must be taken seriously as they can cause havoc in your family and business life. If there is a triangular roof line pointed directly at your house coming from the neighbour across you, try block it from view or hang small round mirror to reflect it back.

The traditional method was to hang a Pa Kua mirror, but this will only hurt your neighbour and start unnecessary feng shui war. A better way to overcome poison arrows such as a triangular roof line without hurting your neighbour is to use the element cure method.

22. Overcoming Poison Arrows With Element Cures

The element cure depends on the direction which the poison arrow is coming from. Thus:

- If the poison arrow is coming from the South, place a large urn of water in front of your door. This will overcome hostile energy coming at you.

- If the poison arrow is coming from the North, place three mounds of earth at the front of your house or three large rocks to overcome the hostile energy. Hanging a faceted crystal in front of your door is also a good cure.

- If the poison arrow is coming from the West or Northwest, install a very bright light in front of your house. You can also use the colour red to stimulate fire energy which overcomes the metal energy being sent by the poison arrow.

21. Use A Child To Help You

Old feng shui masters say that the chi energy of a young child and especially a young male child is especially accurate when assessing the chi energy of a new property. So it is a good idea to bring a child along when viewing property. The purity of the child's chi energy is such that if the place is not auspicious, it will cause the child to become fretful.
