Auspicious Features Of A Main Door

Main doors should never open inside onto a toilet, a staircase, a solid wall or a cramped space. These are said to create blockages for the household residents, causing their luck to get conscripted and squeezed. The best is for the main door to open to a bright hall. In the old days, large family mansions would place an auspicious screen to face the main door and this served the purpose of welcoming in the good chi. It also causes the energy to flow round the screen into the living room, which is also the bright hall of the home. If you place a screen in front of the door, make sure it does not tower over the door.

Source: Lilian Too's 365 Feng Shui Tips

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://fengshuirealm.blogspot.com/2007/11/32-auspicious-features-of-main-door.html' title='32. Main Doors Should Be Solid And Authoritative

The main door of the house should always be solid and authoritative. It should be the largest door in the house and ideally it should face the direction that the house faces. If this is not possible, it is not a big negative. But residents must be aware that there is a difference between the facing direction of the main door and the facing direction of the house. If the main door is not auspicious for any resident in the house, they should use a side door to enter into the house. Generally, the main door should be auspicious for the main bread winner of the house. The auspiciousness of the door directions is based on the KUA numbers of individuals and this is founded upon the Eight Mansions formula.

Source: Lilian Too's 365 Feng Shui Tips

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://fengshuirealm.blogspot.com/2007/10/31-main-doors-should-be-solid-and.html' title='31. This means that there should not be a long driveway leading straight at the front door of the houses. This seems to be so popular with many country mansions in the West and it often brings disastrous results to the family. Instead, driveways should either be placed by the side of the house, or they should be gentle curving. Never allow the driveway to become transformed into a poison arrow.

Driveways should also not "narrow" out or in, as this has a limiting effect on the business and finance luck of residents. Do not place the house too far in front, nor too far behind when "positioning" it onto a plot of land. The ideal is to site the house in a way that allows balanced dimensions to be maintained, while at the same time creating the effect of a bright hall in front of the main door. When the bright hall is completely missing, chi energy cannot accumulate and wealth luck becomes squeezed. This can be a playing field or a padang or a wide open area. Such houses enjoy extreme good fortune.

Look for a house, which has a number that corresponds to your KUA number or to your day of birth. So if you are born on the 18th June, look for a house with the number 18. If you are born on the 14th September, then choose a house with the number 14. Match it with the day of birth (not the month or year).

Look for a house, which is regular in shape with little or no missing corners.

Source: Lilian Too's 365 Feng Shui Tips

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://fengshuirealm.blogspot.com/2007/10/24-how-to-select-good-feng-shui-house.html' title='24. If there is a triangular roof line pointed directly at your house coming from the neighbour across you, try block it from view or hang small round mirror to reflect it back.

The traditional method was to hang a Pa Kua mirror, but this will only hurt your neighbour and start unnecessary feng shui war. Overcoming Poison Arrows With Element Cures

The element cure depends on the direction which the poison arrow is coming from. Thus:

- If the poison arrow is coming from the South, place a large urn of water in front of your door. This will overcome hostile energy coming at you.

- If the poison arrow is coming from the North, place three mounds of earth at the front of your house or three large rocks to overcome the hostile energy. Hanging a faceted crystal in front of your door is also a good cure.

- If the poison arrow is coming from the West or Northwest, install a very bright light in front of your house. You can also use the colour red to stimulate fire energy which overcomes the metal energy being sent by the poison arrow.

- If the poison arrow is coming from the East or Southeast, hang a five rod metal chime in front of the house. You can also use other brass objects such as Fu dogs, coins or brass rulers to stimulate metal energy being sent by the poison arrow.

- If the poison arrow is coming from the Northeast or Southwest, plant trees in front of your house. Use A Child To Help You

Old feng shui masters say that the chi energy of a young child and especially a young male child is especially accurate when assessing the chi energy of a new property. So it is a good idea to bring a child along when viewing property. The purity of the child's chi energy is such that if the place is not auspicious, it will cause the child to become fretful.

If the child starts to cry or to exhibit signs of distress, the place does not have good chi. If the child starts to pee or becomes difficult, it suggests obstacles. But if the child shows signs of joy, starts to smile and laugh, the omens are good. Trust these signs as they are usually an accurate assessment of the invisible chi energy of the place.

Source: Lilian Too's 365 Feng Shui Tips

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://fengshuirealm.blogspot.com/2007/10/21-use-child-to-help-you.html' title='21. Firstly, it is always best to look at potential property during the early morning hours and the best time would be during the hour of the dragon between 7am and 9am. You can also view property at the hours that correspond to your own animal sign. Secondly, look at the weather conditions - if it rains, it is a good sign, indicating there will be growth luck. If the rain develops into a heavy downpour however, it is not a good sign, suggesting increasing problems.

Source: Lilian Too's 365 Feng Shui Tips

Spiritual Life (19)

Respect For Others
" By developing a sense of respect for others and a concern for their welfare, we reduce our own selfishness, which is the source of all problems, and enhance our sense of kindness, which is a natural source of goodness. In fact almost all Chinese are so familiar with this particular feng shui taboo that it is difficult for anyone to sell a house that faces an oncoming road to a Chinese family. The oncoming road is regarded as a poison arrow and the best way to solve this problem should you need to, is to literally block the offending road from view. If your house faces an oncoming road but you are located higher than the road, then the road will not harm you. But if your house is lower than the road then the oncoming road takes on the hostile energies of a deadly tiger.

Source: Lilian Too's 365 Feng Shui Tips

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://fengshuirealm.blogspot.com/2007/09/13-do-not-face-t-junction.html' title='13. This suggests a situation where should you get into trouble, there is "no way out". Should you find that your house is indeed located at the end of a dead end road and you do not want to move out, then the way to deal with the situation is to build an inner courtyard with a wall directly facing the road. On the wall place a "window". This enables you to symbolically capture whatever bad chi is being directed at the house. The tranquil serenity of the courtyard transforms any bad chi that enters through the window. Needless to say the courtyard must be landscaped with healthy growing plants, water features and good earth energy such as stonewash or pebbles.

Source: Lilian Too's 365 Feng Shui Tips

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://fengshuirealm.blogspot.com/2007/09/12-avoid-living-in-cul-de-sac.html' title='12. If your land has a view of a "symbol" which appeals to you, then living there will bring you good fortune. On the other hand when hill formations or rock outcrops remind you of fierce predatory animals such as eagles, tigers and even rats and foxes, these can bring misfortune and illness. Once in Hong Kong in the Sixties, an entire apartment block came sliding down in the Mid Levels, killing many of those living there. It was reported that feng shui masters had repeatedly warned of the outcrop of rock overhanging the apartment block. Some said it resembled a panther about to spring on the building - and it finally did. So do be alert to malevolent rock outcrops that seem to threaten your home or building. This creates longevity luck for the residents.

Source: Lilian Too's 365 Feng Shui Tips

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://fengshuirealm.blogspot.com/2007/08/3-always-look-for-symbolic-tortoise.html' title='3. It is a complex body of knowledge that reveals the ways to balance the energies of the environment to assure health, wealth and good fortune for people inhabiting it.

Feng shui, pronounced in English as "fung shway", also known as "Kan-Yu" which means 'The Law of Heaven and Earth’. "Feng" means "wind" and "shui" means "water", literally translates as "wind-water". In Chinese culture gentle wind and clear water have always been associated with good harvest and good health, thus "good feng shui" came to mean good livelihood and fortune, while "bad feng shui" came to mean hardship and misfortune.

Feng Shui is based on the Taoist vision and understanding of nature, particularly on the idea that the land is alive and filled with energy. The ancient Chinese believed that the land's energy could either make or break the kingdom, so to speak. The theories of yin and yang, as well as the five elements, which are some of the basic aspects of a feng shui analysis, also come from Taoism.

Early feng shui relied on astronomy to find correlations between humans and the universe. The goal of feng shui as practiced today is to situate the human built environment on spots with good qi. The "perfect spot" is a location and an axis in time. Some areas are not suitable for human settlement and should be left in their natural state.

The main tools used in a feng shui analysis are the Compass and the Ba-Gua. The Ba-Gua is an octagonal map or grid containing the symbols of the I Ching, the ancient oracle on which Feng Shui is based. It is one of the easiest methods used to ascertain the Feng Shui of any given environment.

The feng shui compass, also called Lo-Pan, is used to access deeper information about the site or the building. It consists of bands of concentric rings arranged around the magnetic needle. "Lo" means "everything" and "Pan" means "bowl", which can be interpreted as the key to mysteries of the universe.

Feng Shui offers a variety of remedies and enhancements to improve people's lives and rectify inauspicious situations. It is extensively used in both home and business environments all over the world. Although some levels of feng shui are easy to understand and apply, the "core" knowledge takes years of study. Just like traditional Chinese medicine, feng shui knowledge is very deep and complex.

2. Good Feng Shui Starts With Good Locations

Auspicious location are usually slightly elevated places where the "green dragon" on your left nestles gently with the "white tiger" on your right, their bodies curving gently to create an armchair formation. The land is protected at the back by hills that symbolize the "black tortoise", while in the South the presence of the "crimson phoenix" enhances the site. And if, facing this wonderful configuration of hills and mountains there is also a view of meandering or slow moving water; and if the vegetation in the area is also green and luscious, then placing your home here brings an abundance of good fortune. There is enormous wealth for the household for succeeding generations. The first TIP is to try to find such a site.

Source: Lilian Too's 365 Feng Shui Tips

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://fengshuirealm.blogspot.com/2007/08/good-feng-shui-starts-with-good.html' title='1.
